At the city council meeting on 30 November, CSV councillors were given the written answers to the questions posed by them at the meeting on 26 October. The full answers can be found in the gallery below. CSV Sandweiler is deeply disappointed with the quality of these alleged answers. Below we explain why.
In her verbal response to sub-items 2 and 3 of the first question, Mayor Jacqueline Breuer (LSAP) had joyfully announced that citizens wanted to find out about the costs of the logo affair. According to the written answer now available, the oral statement was nothing more than another false statement by the mayor, just like the statement she had already made to the press a few weeks ago on a different topic (La maire ne connaît pas le dossier).
The question of “how” in sub-item 4 was not answered at all. The “where” or “when” was not the subject of the question, even though it is interesting for all citizens to see that not only the municipal council should be informed about such issues of public interest.
Question 2, sub-item 1, was not really answered either. Every correctly planned project has a known duration as to how long the individual phases are to be worked on. The end date, especially for outdoor construction works, always depends on the weather conditions, i.e. the number of days on which work cannot be carried out. The question was not “When will the construction work be finished?”
In sub-item 2, we are pleased to read that the college of aldermen is concerned about the safety of all citizens and hope that this will also be reflected in the “rue d’Itzig” project. However, there does not seem to be any proper planning of the construction site, divided into phases that will allow partial opening after completion of one phase. Rather, this construction site seems to be carried out from day to day without any proper planning.
With regard to the answer to question 3, with an exclamation mark at the end, it should be noted that our questions were submitted on 22 October and we only received the requested written answers when this question was dealt with verbally. The tone of the written answer to question 3 is therefore more than inappropriate. Moreover, the number of exclamation marks throughout the text shows very well the aggressiveness with which the college of aldermen, especially Mrs Mayor, responded both in writing and orally. Dear citizens, please feel free to attend one of the next meetings in person as a spectator and see for yourself.
