The following information was communicated by Mayor Claude Mousel, on behalf of the College of Aldermen, under item 1 of the municipal council meeting agenda:
1) Four further municipal council meetings are scheduled before the end of 2026, each starting at 9 a.m.:
- 29 October
- 12 November
- 10 December
- 18 December
2) Work is progressing rapidly at the construction site on rue d’Itzig and is expected to be completed by the end of this year. However, this timeline does not correspond to the new traffic regulations for rue d’Itzig.
3) Work on the central traffic island in “an de Straachen” has been completed. The aim of these works is to make it easier for residents to access their garages.
4) The College of Aldermen had commissioned an audit of the financial situation of the non-profit organisation ASBL Piwitsch. The audit found that there had been no irregularities in its accounts.
5) A new dishwasher has been installed at the Cultural Centre.
6) The municipality of Sandweiler, together with the municipalities in the eastern part of the country, has submitted a request to extend the tram line through Sandweiler to Remich.
7) A information screen has been installed at the municipal administration building.

Confirmation of the traffic regulations adopted by the College of Aldermen
This item appeared as number 11 on the agenda and concerned traffic regulations for several streets.
Among other things, it dealt with the closure to traffic (“road closed”) of a large section of rue d’Itzig until 26 March 2027 due to the construction works. We consider this timeline more realistic than the mayor’s announcement that the works would be completed by the end of this year.
Administrative account and management account
The Control report found, among other things, that the municipality had not always complied with the legislation on public procurement. The report also notes that the College of Aldermen was already informed on 07.01.2025 regarding the same file.
The College of Aldermen’s response to the report amounted to a single sentence: they would be more careful in the future.
As the CSV, we are therefore looking forward to the 2025 report, which will cover the financial year following the identification of the 2024 issues and the notification of the College of Aldermen.
